Abstract

Education in modern business conditions plays a strategic role in the development of knowledge-based and innovation-driven societies. Investment in education represents one of the key determinants of democratization and the economic empowerment of individuals. The goal of contemporary education is to strengthen professional knowledge and to develop key competencies, including digital skills, which enable individuals to be prepared for new professional challenges and actively participate in current socio-economic trends. The aim of this paper is to analyse, through conducted empirical research, the impact of formal education and acquired digital competencies on employability in the Republic of Serbia. Special emphasis is placed on the relationship between the level of education, digital literacy, and employment opportunities, with the objective of providing recommendations for improving educational policies and professional training programs.
