In the first part of this Special Issue, we intend to address open questions and real potential for various applications of modern approaches and technologies in data, software, and system engineering in order to develop and implement effective software services in support of information management in various organization systems. We intended to address the interdisciplinary character of a set of theories, methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies in the development of effective software services.

Marko Marinković:
The second five papers in this Special issue are oriented toward various theoretical and practical problems in civil engineering. Starting from numerical modelling of shaking-table test of the masonry building that employs non-linear material models and computationally demanding time-history analysis, then cyclic analysis of a steel-concrete composite connection using detailed numerical model, followed by the investigation of the design of fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) structures, numerical analysis of a school building with various types of masonry infill walls, which is followed with the detailed numerical model investigating effects of infill walls on the RC columns and decoupling solution for solving this problem.
Each of the presented works gives a good overview of the studied problem with the potential solution that comes from the investigations carried out. The whole issue is very interesting to read for both researchers and practitioners.
